ProMasonry Cement Products

Data Sheet | SDS

ProMasonry Clear Seal is a water based clear gloss sealer that protects and enhances the appearance of concrete and masonry surfaces.

Spray, brush or roller apply to concrete, concrete block, brick and concrete paving stone. Additional coats will increase gloss and slipperiness. ProMasonry Clear Seal may blush if water is trapped underneath the coating. This will clear as the water evaporates.

  • Passes ASTM E514.
  • Mitigates carbonation. Effective chloride ion screen. UV stable. Unaffected by microbiological activity.
  • Water vapor permeable.
  • Repels water from penetrating substrate.
  • Meets VOC emission standards for architectural coating.
  • Water based technology, low odor, easy handling and clean up.

  • Substrate must be clean and free of loose debris, oils, paints, previously applied water repellents or any substance that can interfere with penetration.
  • Substrate must be dry; moisture in substrate will cause material to have a milky film whenever treated surface becomes wet.
  • If acid washing is used to prepare substrate, neutralize with 1 part ammonia to 3 parts water solution flooded over the surface. Residual acid in the substrate will cause ProMasonry Clear Seal to form a milky film instead of a clear gloss finish. If this occurs the material must be removed.

Priming is not necessary.

Stir until homogenous.

  • Always apply to a test area to ensure the desired effect can be achieved.
  • Material appears as a milky haze when applied and becomes clear within one hour at 72F.
  • For roller applied applications use a 3/8 - 1/2 inch nap roller depending upon surface texture.
  • For best spray results apply with low pressure or airless spray equipment with fan tip.
  • Fringe, edge and border areas should first be cut in with a brush.
  • Work to natural break points in the structure.
  • Always keep a wet edge.
  • For horizontal applications begin at one edge and work backwards towards the opposite edge.
  • Apply enough material to saturate the surface, but do not allow material to pond. Brush out ponded material before surrounding area dries.
  • Single coat coverage will seal and provides a gloss finish. Subsequent applications will increase gloss.
  • Allow 5 hours @ 72F and above; 10 hours @ 50 - 72F; and 24 hours @ 45 - 50F between applications.
  • Follow the same temperature guidelines as above for opening to foot traffic. Allow a minimum of 24 hours curing before opening to light vehicular traffic.

Protect from moisture for 24 hours. Material is fully cured in 3 days.

Clean tools, equipment and adjacent areas with water immediately after application. Clean glass with glass cleaner before material can dry.

  • Product is alkaline.
  • Do not ingest. Avoid breathing fumes.
  • Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
  • Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for additional information.
